Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good entry into 2026 and that all your pets survived the fear of the sky exploding repeatedly. I know Kahn did not have a fun time last night with the neighbors setting off mortars. I don't really do New Year's Resolutions in a normal way, just a way that works for me where I have general aims to reach. Business-wise this year I'm looking to add a greater variety of products to my shop (washi tape, reusable sticker books, and more station items are topping that list) and branching out into wholesale options. I'm working on setting up a small selection of options on my new Faire page, which isn't active yet but I'll share again when it is. If you have any small shops you think would be interested in selling some of my stickers, cards, or anything else let me know so I can reach out to them when I'm set up!

Personally I am aiming to work on resting for real this coming year. Trying to give myself some more breathing room and working to combat the intense amount of guilt I feel when I'm not at the level of productivity the evil little voice in my head has decided is necessary. This past year has been incredible in a lot of ways, but has definitely shown me that I need to take more care when it comes to burnout. This past year I've had a major surgery, traveled out of the country for the first time, been diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety and PTSD officially, allowed myself to truly accept help in a lot of areas that used to feel uncomfortable, and traversed the explosion of my social group in a way I didn't anticipate. I had started giving the same kind of energy to people as they were giving to me which landed me in a spot where one part of my social group decided I was acting in bad faith and stopped talking to me entirely. This was the start of me realizing how much of myself I truly give to others when it isn't actually taken as kindness, but as an expectation of labor that isn't sustainable for me.

I'm going to be taking more time to myself this year, adding specific days that I don't hold myself accountable to anyone but myself and taking a more chill approach to some things including Patreon. That said all your benefits will remain the same! You won't see a huge change from this, but it does mean I'm going to take February partway off. I won't be streaming in February and, while you will be getting your benefits, will be a bit more quiet than normal in my posting. I know all of you will be well on board with that because I'm very blessed with a community who wants me to be well and is very vocal about it. All that said let's look at what's happening THIS month!

January Color in Focus:

You all voted and rose is our first color of the year! I'm already cooking on this one and ready to get cracking on it. My first project will be for the February benefit stickers! I'm thinking after January I'll do a little bit of a theme for the stickers this year: things you could find in a coffee shop.

January Physical Benefits

For those who don't follow the Chinese zodiac, every year has an animal and an element attached to it that repeat in a cycle. This year is the fire horse, related to creative/original thinking, leadership, and passionate, fearless energy. Last year I also did a sticker inspired by the Chinese zodiac and I let that inspire me again - so we have some fun horse inspired benefits!

  • For the Apple Pie of my Eye, Gimme S'more, One in a Melon, and Top Banana Tiers we have a sticker reminding you to take care of those around you before striking out from home. In politically strenuous times for many marginalized people it's important to remember that part of the fight is making a warm and safe place for people to land.

  • For the Sodalightful, Gimme S'more, One in a Melon, and Top Banana Tiers there is a print of a watercolor Horsehead Nebula. The reference I used for this painting is one taken by a professor at my alma mater, Travis Rector. There was a poster of this photo that I looked at a lot during college and it popped into my mind immediately when I was thinking about some horse inspiration

  • If you're already part of the physical goodie tiers you can expect your item or items after they're mailed out at the end of the month! If you are not part of the tiers that get these goodies and want to switch you can follow Patreon's instructions for changing your tier here.

One last thing before I leave you to your New Year activities: I have a 10% sale currently going on my website! If you'd like to snag some stuff in lieu of my usual New Year's Bear sale I'm running this one through January to help me pay down the medical bill from my hysterectomy in May. Use code Booterus883 at checkout to get 10% off!

Happy New Year again! I hope this one treats us all kindly!
